Not Quite Easy...Is this OK?
« on: April 26, 2007, 19:22:12 pm »
Hi
I've been struggling with some 45 naps with my DS (almost 3 months old), and have had some success with using W2S, but usually only with the midday nap.  As a result, we have ended up with a schedule that doesn't quite follow EASY.  I am posting it here in the hopes that someone could advise me whether or not I'm going to run into troubles with it, or if it is OK to do...

E- 7:30
A-8:00
S - 9:00
A - 10:00

E - 11:00
S - 11:30

E - 2:00/2:30
A - 2:30/3:00
S - 4:00/4:30

E - 5:00/5:30
A, maybe catnap - 5:30

E, bedtime routine - 7:00
S-7:30
E - 10:30
S -11-7:30 (occasionally a feed at 5:00) and we start all over again!!

My concern is that in the morning, due to a short nap (which seems to be all he needs at that time of day), he is awake before feeding, and then goes down for a nap almost right aways after he eats - he does NOT get nursed to sleep, though.  This seems to be working well for us right now, and I'm OK with a shorter morning and late day nap if it means a solid midday one, but I just want to make sure I'm not instilling any bad habits or problems that will come back to haunt me later!  Any input or recommendations would be appreciated!

A 45 minute nap can mean one of two things.  It can mean that your lo is overtired or that it is time to extend A time.  What time does your lo wake up in the morning?   I see he eats at 7:30, is that the time he gets up?  Usually at this age they have 2-3 longer naps and then a shorter cat nap in the evening.  At around four months they switch to 3 naps ( 4 hour EASY) and take 2 longer naps and a cat nap.  Of course these are just averages and not everyone baby follows them.
