Short Nappers - Were they Colicky/Fussy Babies

Hi guys
this is just a curiousity thing to see if there is a 'reason' for our short nappers. (would make me feel better if i had an excuse for bubs poor sleep habits).
Incidentally baby #1 had no colic/fussiness and was a great napper from the get-go.
baby #2 was extremely colicky for the first 3-4 months and is a poor napper so maybe there is some truth in this ??

To be honest with the amount of people on these boards who have short nappers I think it's basically pretty normal- totally developmental! and we just have to do the best we can using Tracy's techniques to help them learn to sleep longer, iykwim. Apparently they spend the first 6 months concentrating on sorting out their night sleep, and then after 6 months they learn to sleep better in the day. This is why many grow out of bad naps around this time.

I think you need to add into the poll LO's with reflux! If i look at our birth club, many, if not all, have or had short nappers. My LO lengthened his naps once we made many changes and probably also when his reflux became better managed. But as i said, at least 3 of our short nappers have reflux too.

Well, my first had little or no colic and apart from the usual short stint of 45 minute naps was a great sleeper. DS, however, had terrible colic and is still and 30 minute napper now at nearly 14 months!

Ds was "colicky" for the first three months, and lenthened one nap a little by 6 months. He didn't nap really well until we switched to one nap at 12 months old. Interesting theory.
