Is my baby an habitual waker?
« on: April 28, 2007, 10:27:54 am »
My LO is 8 weeks old and has been on EASY since the first week.  He initially had one feed every night after the dream feed at around 4am and then it started being two feeds which it has now been for quite a few weeks now.  I first of all thought he was on a growth spurt at 6 weeks and am now thinking he is on another one at 8 weeks and that the other one was not a growth spurt???  Anyway, he is a big baby (born 9.5 lbs) and is getting bigger every day.  He feeds on one breast every daytime feed and sometimes this ups to two if he is particularly hungry.  I make sure he does not need anymore by winding and seeing if he wants more but when he is finished he is finished so I do not not think it is not eating enough during the day?  His feeds at night are not that long and can be at any time of night.  He also goes straight back to sleep - he never sleeps more than 2 hours during the day.  I am completely flumoxed (and exhausted) as to why he is waking and am thinking of dummying him tonight at his first wake  up which is usually around 1 - 2.30.  Any suggestions as to how I can get him to at least drop one feed although I feel due to his size (approximately 13lbs) that he should actually be going through by now?   u Need help as have read Baby Whisperer a zillion times and can't figure it out.

hi

if he's waking at different times it's rather hunger BUT if you think he should be going throught the night on one feed plus DF, then you could try offering dummy instead IMO.
what time is DF?

can yo post your routine?
