My 4.5 mo son is drinks 6 oz. every 3.5 hours.  But for his dreamfeed, he usually only takes 4 oz.  Is this normal, or should I be trying harder to have him drink 6 oz for his dreamfeed too?

I had the opposite happen.  My LO would drink 9 or 10 oz. at the dreamfeed.  I was told that they will stop drinking when they are full.  As long as you are happy with how the rest of the night works out I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My Lo is about the same age. Some times he drains 7oz, some times he drinks 3/4oz sometimes he won't open his mouth at all. I just wish I knew in advance so we could stop wasting formula on the nights he doesn't want any ::).

What about--is it okay to leave the LO in the crib during the DF? If we take ours out and she wakes, we are sometimes "in for it" in terms of disrupting her cycle or enduring a scream fest that could leave to vomiting up what she just drank. Uffda.

I think leaving them in the crib may be a personal decision.  For us the crib is for sleeping and that is it.  We didn't want to confuse him with anything else.  I would suggest you just do what feels right for you.

It depends on what your goal is....if your goal is to have them sleep through the night and it is waking him...then its not working.  MAke sure the room is veru quiet.  Maybe you can just lower the crib railing and put your arm inside and lift his head.  Again, I agree with the fact that you need to do what feels right to you.

You say, lift the LO's head due to proper drinking position, right?
