We need some help. We've read one of Tracy's books and scoured the site for help, but we don't know what else to do.
Our LO is six weeks old and on a 3-hr EASY. We cluster feed in the evening and do a DF around 11 or 11:30. She usually sleeps through the night -- she'll usually wake between 4-5 am, though sometimes she sleeps later. The problem is that she doesn't nap during the day. And in the last day or two, it has begun to affect falling asleep at night (probably because she is overtired).
We also did the shush-pat for over a week, but only once or twice did she put herself to sleep. The rest of the time we had to stay there the entire time, often through a second 20-minute cycle, and more than once just going into the next feed. We've also been using the 4S winddown routine, and we take her up to her room at the first yawn, but it's almost as if she's caught on to what we're doing -- she starts to cry no more than 5 minutes after she's put down in her crib. The only time she stops is when we pick her up, which we try to avoid doing. We don't want to have her cry it out -- that was the attraction to EASY in the first place. But we're at a loss.
What else... We've been trying to limit her awake time to 45 minutes (she often feeds that entire time, and feeds steadily). We are breastfeeding.
Any help would be appreciated.
