Hard to know what 6 1/2 mo wants/needs
« on: May 11, 2007, 18:06:19 pm »
Hello.  My lo is 6 1/2 months old.  She has always needed a lot of sleep, on the higher end of the average for her age.  I could always read her and knew how long she could handle being awake and how much sleep she needed in a day.  Well, I am now having difficulties reading her.  She has been on EASY since 5 weeks old.  She's always fallen asleep rather quickly, I may have to go in to give her the paci a time or two as her little hands like to pull it out :0)  Well whether she is fussy or calm and really rubbing her eyes, I put her to bed (same nap time routine) and she gets in her crib and plays around for at least 30 minutes!  Is this just typical for a 6 mo or am I putting her down too early?  She is taking two naps and she keeps waking up after an hour.  I get her up after the hour for the first one, but try to extend the second one, when I am successful, I'll have to wake her up because she will nap for 3 hours plus!  I know that is too much sleep but two one hour naps is not enough for her either as it makes her really cranky.  So here is her daily schedule, any tips or advice is welcome!  I just like knowing what she really needs, because she is such a happy baby when she is getting her proper amount of rest!

7- bf
9- nap
10:15-wake
11-bf
11-1- we go to the gym
1-solids
1:30/2- nap
3:30/4- wake (this really varies based on if I get her back to sleep after an hour or not)
6:30- bath
6:45- eat
7-sleep
