WI / WO - summary of my monthly progress with 15mo
« on: May 30, 2007, 01:20:29 am »
If you're like me, you'd like to have the info without reading all the posts.  Just the bits you need.  So here are my statistics on getting my DD to sleep from sitting by her crib until she fell asleep to getting her to fall asleep independently (almost):

Wednesday      32 PD's                 45 minutes         April 24
Thursday         16PD's                 30 minutes
Friday              7 PD's                  30 minutes
Saturday         16 PD's                 25 minutes
Sunday           18 PD's                60 minutes
Monday           35 PD's                 50 minutes
Tuesday      26 PD's                60 minutes
Wednesday   31PD’s               70 minutes *moved bedtime up 30min
Thursday                26                      60
Friday                  52                      60
Saturday                20                      75
Sunday                started WI/WO here is my first post
I put her down, she played, she talked she mantra cried, then started to scream.  I WI/PD/comfort(she's no longer crying)WO.  Then I did it again.  That time she ended up playing with her duck for good 10 minutes.  And then as I was WO the second time, she realized what was going on and started to cry.  I counted to 10, WI/PD/comforted/WO.  She cried again, but as I was ready to go in, she stopped and started to talk to herself.  So I didn't go in.  Over the evening I had to go in few more times.  As she grew more and more tired she was crying more and more and it was much more intense.  Each time I WI/PD(if necessary)/comforted/WO.  At the very end I was in about 5 times every 10-count.  And then... she fell asleep               .  Does that tell you how happy I was?   So it took her an hour again (she was asleep at 7:30) but I felt less stressed and got my laundry folded in between the WI  .  What a productive evening!

Monday
I put her down at 6:15 and did WI/WO as before.  The same thing as before. Twice she played alone for about 7-10 minutes and then got more tired and started to cry more often so I was in and out every minute or so for about 20 minutes.  Then the crying was continuous, so I kept WI/WO and finally she fell asleep at 7:15.

Tuesday
Today it still took her an hour to fall asleep but much less crying and only 11 WI/WO.

Thanks for the information, it could help someone.

It certainly seems that the time that it is taking to fall asleep is getting shorter.  Well done for all your hard work.
