Bad cold, eating badly, NW.... should I NF?
« on: June 02, 2007, 13:30:54 pm »
I've stopped NF after 9mo....
Now, DD has this horrible cold and is on antibiotics. She is eating much less than she used to and started NW. During the past few nights, DD had fever and I gave her water if she wakes up at night (just trying to give her more liquid)
I'm worried that she is hungry at night and might need a feed. At the same time, I'm worried that it might be AP and will become a habbit :-\
Any suggestions.... this is DD's first cold... I'm really lost.

I personally wouldn't feed but if she is not eating much at all during the day and is truly hungry then you need to address her needs. IF it becomes a habit (that is, she is still waking after she is feeling better for a bottle) then I would eliminate it and do some sleep training (like wi/wo) to get the habit to stop....

Maybe speak to your doc to see what he thinks. I think in general their appetite reduces and they should be given more fluid.

Thanks Layla,

Now I'm giving her water first... if she has another NW :'(, I then give her water with 1-2spoon of formula :-\
I thought when LO has cold, she'ld be tired and sleep more.... but totally opposite. I've a sick and overtired toddler at the moment :'(
She is getting better... no more fever... but those coughes :(
