hard time falling asleep
« on: June 25, 2007, 22:47:47 pm »
hello,
my 3.5 months never gave a fuss to fall asleep, nap ar bed time, she would just suck her thumb and drift off. But in the last 2 weeks she fusses a lot, I end up patting her back often. Its seems that no matter what, she needs to let out that last cry before driffting off. i don't suspect overstimulation because she never has anything dangling in her face, she just looks at me or her sister and usually blabs away at us. i put her down as soon as I see her cues(like I always did before) and I am on time with the EASY.

Hi there. Welcome to the boards! :)

Could it be that she's ready to increase her A time? We had the same problem around 3 months--we were terrified of overtiredness and were putting her down too early as she was ready to be awake longer, so she fussed and cried going down and took short naps.

You can post your routine if you'd like, so that we can take a look.

Thank you very much,
I do keep her up only an hour, being very afraid of overtiredness. And she did also start taking short naps. I was just today trying to make them longer, wich went pretty well. I've just started putting her on EASY and it's ok, she always had a routine. But never lasted very long in between feeding. Thats why I have her on the 3h EAsy. I'm to afraid to start making the 4h Easy transition, because she sleeps pretty good at night.

thank you

Hi there. One hour is quite short A time for 3.5 months and that could definitely contribute to napping problems. I would try moving to 3.5 hour EASY. You don't have to do 4 quite yet, but 3.5 hour would probably help. It might also help the feed issue, as she will be more hungry for her feeds.

WOW ! this is truly amazing !

With a longer A time she is having 1h1/2 naps, and feeding better. Solved my problems.
Thank you so much.
