9 month old - average A times
« on: June 28, 2007, 17:17:22 pm »
Hi

Can any others with lo's similiar age please let me know how much A time they are having?  Unfortunately, ours varies quite a bit as we have a very early riser on our hands (4-4.30am!!!) and some days (if she won't go back to sleep which seems to have become the norm) I have to keep her up a really long time because I have to take DD1 to playgroup for 9am so she doesn't sleep until after that - poor soul.  I just wanted to know what the average is at this age.

Thanks
Lisa

Hi,
My DD is about 9 1/2 months old,and she does 4 hrs of A time, although she seems to be increasing her morning A time again. She has done 4 hrs for well over a month now.She did this on her own,I really had to read her tired cues,as if I put her down too early, her naps were short or she wouldn't settle. Her naps are great at moment, but she's waking early, well stirring about 5:30am,then sleeps on and off till around 7am.Think this is a difficult phase at the moment, experimenting with lengths of naps and increase in A time,as the transition to one nap gets closer!Hope this helps.

Thanks

I don't feel so bad about her staying up 4 hours now!  Trouble is I cannot read her signs at all anymore, she hardly ever yawns or rubs her eyes and soemtimes gets cranky but by that time its probably too late.

Thanks again
