« on: July 21, 2007, 22:34:57 pm »
Hi, I am new to the board and new too EASY, LO and i just started 2 days ago. At night she seems to fall asleep on her own afte rhalf an hour but naps she will lay there then start to whine. She never really cries for anything she just whines the whole time. I havelet it go on for 20 minutes and then I go in and try the whole soothing thing again. The problem is though is she ends up missing the entire nap with this process because it ends up taking us right into her next feed. Please help

Ya now I see that in the title sorry about that.

Have you tried to do pat/shh as soon as you lay her down?  That may soothe her enough to sleep right away.

If she's not crying, just whining, I'd suggest just letting her do it. It may be a self-soothing technique for her. Keenan, who is 10.5 weeks old, has a noise that he makes sometimes when he's put down-- it's not crying, just kind of a drone, and it's his way of helping himself go to sleep.
