Catnaps
« on: August 03, 2007, 00:57:08 am »
Sometimes my LO (13 weeks old) has such a hard time settling down for her cat nap (before bath time, etc) that she will only really settle down and fall asleep 5 or 10 minutes before her nap is supposed to be over.  She might sleep for a few minutes and then wake up and not settle easily.
Should i count the whole time that she is in nap mode as her catnap even if she doesn't sleep? i don't want her to be overtired for bedtime but i also don't want her having too long of a catnap.  What should i do?
Oh, also she usually takes longer to settle down for her night sleep. Meaning her naps she can go down in about 10 minutes and sleep but when its her night sleep she will settle and then wake up and it takes a very long time. so does that mean when she is having a hard time settling for her catnap that really she just wants to go to sleep for the night?

Hello,

Can you post a bit about her schedule, times etc.

I am wondering if she is overtired for her catnap, which then has an impact on her ability to get to sleep quickly.  If this is the case then she will be even more overtired for her bedtime, which may be the reason that she is finding it more difficult to settle down at this point too.

How does she settle for her other naps?
