wake up times-change the routine
« on: August 07, 2007, 15:50:08 pm »
Hi,
my son is 10weeks old and we are trying to be on EASY. His feeds are on 3 hour intervals and that goes fine, however he wakes up anything between 4 and 7am. Depending on that time we start our daily routine e.g 4,7,10, 13, 16, 18, 20h and DF or 6,9,12,15,18,20 etc. Should I aim to feed him at the same times regardless on what time he wakes up?
Thanks
PS not sure if i m posting this on the right board ???

Hello:) And welcome to the boards! You will hopefullt get some great advice - I know I have.

EASY isn't a schedule but a routine, so don't worry too much about different timings - it is the order of things that mean you can get to know your baby's cries.

However, a few things that I did to try and get a bit more consistance was that if my little one (LO) woke up before 6am (now 7!!) I would consider it still night time and keep everything dark, quiet and no eye contact, just trying to get her back to sleep - there are a few times you just have an incredibly awake baby, but they do get the idea! The other thing was that if she wasn't awake by 7 or at the latest 730 I would wake her and feed her - even if she'd only fed 2 hours previously. I think it helps to get them onto roughly the same routine. Also If he he wakes up early I would try and get him to bed by 630 or 7 and do the DF at 10ish. But that's the way I did it! I'm sure there's other advice :)

Happy posting and hope this helps!
