Short naps, do you fight them?
« on: August 09, 2007, 17:25:23 pm »
My ds2 being my second I just don't have the time to struggle to get him back down as I am busy with dd1. I know eventually they grow out of this phase as they develop day sleep patterns after 12 weeks. What do you do when your lo wakes from a nap early (ds2 is almost 6 weeks). TIA Sarah

I fought it for a while, but eventually gave up.  If dd was happy, or relatively so, I just went with it.  And with two under 2 you definitely have your hands full!  I stressed for at least a month over her 45 min naps and ended up making myself nutso.  I was a basket case - crying ALL day, and I am not one prone to depression, and  didn't seem to have any problems with ppd till I started obsessing over her naps.  Once I gave it up, we were all so much happier!  If you have the time to fight it, it is a good fight to fight, but it just was wearing on my sanity too much.  As soon as we moved to a 4 hr easy at 4mo, it all just clicked and she quit doing the 45min naps.  Good luck!!
