LOL Jennifer... she already wakes at 6am. I can't imagine waking her up any earlier :P ;D

No, you probably don't want any earlier!  If I remember right though, she goes down around 6 or 6:30 pm at night right?  I don't think I have ever gotten more than 11 hrs at night out of ds (he is 30 months so sounds like they are pretty close in age).  Since I work, mine don't go to bed (now) until between 8 and 8:30 pm. But any earlier and I just don't get any time with them in the evening and mornings are so rushed.  So ds is getting 10 hrs at night with a two hr. nap equals the 12 total hours sleep for this age.

Anyway, if you really want the nap, have you considered letting her stay up a little later in the evening?  Not a lot later, just 1/2 to 1 hr longer?

DI - not found anything yet. Actually haven't looked for a while... too depressing when you can't what you like so we've kinda put it off.

Kate - you're absolutely right! I was waking up in the morning & talking about the nap & she was waking up & telling she wont nap so I think it really did become power of a struggle kind of thing. We're not at the stage where she'll ask to go to bed but she is happy to follow me to her bedroom ;D

Jennifer - she was otherwise going to bed at 7.30 (well falling asleep at 7.30) & I've only started putting her down earlier when she didn't nap to avoid the overtired state. If she had stayed up any later I would have gone for the straight jacket ;). All is good because she is napping & we're back to her old bedtime. It was just a matter of me seeing her needs (Im going to sound like Kate now) & taking the time to help her relax....so 11 days of my help & now she is sleeping in her cot!!! Either way, I would have been happy if she still wanted to sleep in my room.

At least I know what to do now if we go through this phase again ;D
