Save the water from boiling peaches?
« on: September 03, 2007, 21:20:43 pm »
Made my own organic peach baby food today... only $.25 per ounce! put in the freezer for later of course, at least one more month, maybe two!

I boiled them in tap water in a teflon pot. Should I save the water to put in a bottle? I got about 3 oz of water in there after concentrating it a bit. tastes like weak syrup. I heard that maybe giving the water I boiled fruit in will help with constipation. If I do save it...for now, or later? (he has been constipated)

thanks for your suggestions! :-*

I am sorry, I don't know.

I don't see why saving the water would hurt.  If nothing else, it will make yummy infant cereal later.  If your LO has constipation problems, pear juice and pears cut up into small pieces work as well as prunes/ prune juice. but are more gentle on the tummy.

My DS1 was backed up from 4 months until 2/5 years.  I still make sure I have pear j. on hand.
