time between feedings are sporadic
« on: September 10, 2007, 11:33:58 am »
Does this seem normal for Chaunda. She is turning 4 weeks today.
Notice there are 2 hour gaps between feedings, 2 1/2 hour gaps between feedings, and 3 hour gaps.
A couple 2 hour and 15 minute gaps and there is also the occassional close to "4" hour gap. But, it's all over the place. She's drinking between 2 and 3oz every feeding. The only one on the list below that she would ONLY drink 1 oz was the 12ish one down toward the bottom or maybe it was the 2:25am one. I can't remember now "lol".

note* it's now 7:40am and she's just started crying so I'll be feeding her within the next 5 minutes

Daniel is 8 weeks old and sometimes will go 2.5hrs, sometimes 4 hours. I think she's just finding her way.  She is too small/young to be going 3/4 hours consistantly.  I would go with it.

That's all folks!
(Well, maybe another girl if I can convince DH!)

Sounds like you are doing good, Abbi used to be kind of sporadic with her feedings, sometimes going 2,3 or 4 hrs lol.  It doesn't help when you are not sure what is true hunger though, i used to be flapping about thinking hmmmm is she hungry or does she just want to suck lol

I don't know why, but this tends to happen as well. Is there something I should be doing different. She spent from NOON until 3:30am yesterday eating about every 3 hours. Sometimes 3 1/2 hours and sometimes a little shy of 3 hours. Than for some reason at 3:30am I COULD only get her to drink an oz. This has happened before and she has still gone 2-3 hours. But last night look what happened:
Notice from 3:20 until 4:40 is just a little over an hour. Than for the rest of the day so far I can't get her to hold off more than 2 hours. She will hold off with pacifier sometimes for a bit or me holding her or the swing ect. , but just WILL NOT settle until she gets her fix. For example once again at the 11:05am feeding - the last one, she barely eat an OZ. Is that a snack? Why is she snacking every 2 hours half the day and than drinking 2-3 oz every 3 hours about the rest of the day. Should I not let her go 3 1/2 hours between feedings during the day? Too bad this 2 hour trend starts as early as 3:00am : (

1229am
320am 1oz
440am
655am
905am
1105am NOT even 1OZ

Hi there, I know you are trying the Zantac, so maybe once this kicks in everything will be a bit more consistant for you  :-* :-*
