Email Security Issue

I just noticed this.

In my profile I have the "Hide my email" checkbox checked.

But, when I go an see one of my messages, there is an email icon next to me. Clicking on it, brings up my default mail client with my email address in the field. Essentially, exposing my email address.

I do want my notifications to go to an email address that I actually use, but don't really want to broadcast it.

Or do I see the icon, because I have the permission to see my email address?

Exactly :)

If you choose to hide your email address the only persons that can view it are yourself and Administrators.  As Caroline has demonstrated it is hidden from view to everyone else :)
