The donation message "should" change each time it is updated with a new donation. I'll ask Andy to look into it, but he is exceptionally busy at the moment so I'm not sure when he will be able to get around to it In the meantime it may take awhile to update, and as a result some "thank you" messages may get skipped as it updates to the most recent event.
Hi, Here's how it works!
When a donation is made through Paypal, Paypal sends confirmation of the payment to a script on the webserver. This confirmation can take a few minutes to arrive sometimes. The script then takes the first name (associated with the Paypal account) and generates a dynamic thank you image. This image is sent to the email address associated with the paypal account and a smaller version is made for display on this website. It also sends me a copy of the email/image. Furthermore, the script adds the Paypal email address into a database along with the time and date. Every time a page is displayed on the website, the users email address is compared with the database of Paypal email addresses. If the user's email exists in the database of Paypal email addresses and the date and time associated with the Paypal email address is within six months, adverts are hidden!
As usual, more info than you asked for but if a jobs worth doing and all that!!!
Everything hinges on when Paypal send the confirmation message to the script.
Hope this helps,
Andy
