Still trying to get a routine going....3 mos
« on: October 04, 2007, 14:21:38 pm »
In all honesty, I'm not putting all that myuch effort into either :-[ but mainly because i have thomas too and he's had trouble settling into daycare and  I just dont havae the time to work on a routine with emily so I go by her cues which seem to be as follows
wake 7- 7.30ish
sleep 8.30- 9ish  for 2 hrs (wake her)
tired by 1.5 hrs later so try for nap off to sleep in mins, wakes after 20mins totally happy and content and smiling NO getting her back to sleep then after 30 mins shes exhausted and we battled for 1 hr or more for a nap as shes OT by this stage and then she conks out, have to wake her or we stay in and never get anything done in the afternoon, then poss a catnap before
6pm bath then feed, wind down and bed (takes her a long long time to fall asleep)

I'm thinking she needs more A time before pm nap but finds it hard to stay awake? do u think try to keep her awake?? I would ideally like her to nap am then long nap while T naps afternoon ;) ;) then catnap
MAYBE too much am sleep???
T's routine is wake 7 ish
lunch 12ish
nap 12.30 ish so at this time I cant be trying to get her to sleep as am busy with T any suggestions on a routine which would work round this???

TIA

I would give her a bit more A time before that 2nd nap.  Start by doing 15 minute increments and work you way up every few days until that nap starts to lengthen.

At 3 months most lo's are still on about 4 naps...some 3 so you don't want to push her too much.

It sounds like you are doing a fabulous job!  Way to go mommy of 2! :D
