Hi. This is my second lo and it seems that she is not taking to EASY as well as my first who was very ready and willing to be put on the routine at an early age. I have a couple of issues that I'd love some insight on. First, dd seems to be able to go longer between feeds. When I wake her up at 3 hours, she frequently will take 1 oz from the bottle whereas at a good feed, she'll take 2-3 oz from the bottle. Thus, our EASY routine gets totally messed up because when she only takes 1 oz, then she can't stay asleep as long and I know that I'm doing some AP to try to get through those issues. Other times, she can't last 2 hours -- generally because she only took 1 oz the feeding before. Second, she doesn't wake until 8:30 for the day because she sleeps until 4-5 am and feeds well at that time. When I've tried to start the day at 7:30, she doesn't eat well at the 7:30 feed so our whole day ends up getting shot. Thus, I've been letting her sleep in until 8:30, which is not ideal for when I return to work. So, here's what we aim for when she wakes at 8:30 in the morning:
E -- 8:30
A -- 9/9:15- 9:30/9:45 (I just ready signals)
S -- 9:30/9:45 - (1 1/2 hour -- this is usually in the car seat because I have to get my ds to daycare)
E - 11:30
S - 1 1/2 hour nap
E - 2:30
S - 1/1s hour nap
*** Here's where we frequently get off on the EASY routine depending on how well she's eaten and sleep throughout the day, but here's what we aim for:
E -- 5:30
S -- 30-45 minutes
E -- 7:30
A -- Bath/swaddle
S -- Aime for a 1/2 hour or so but some times she will not go down before next feed
E-- 9-9:30
S -- She'll generally go right down after this feed
11 - dream feed
4-5 night feed
I'd really like to 1) get her to go to bed for the night at 7-7:30 as I know the importance of that; 2) get her to eat enough at each feed so that she actually takes a longer nap (I noted 1 1/2hours but that's usually with her waking in the middle and me working to get her back down or just shortening the times between feeds); and I'm wondering what when others start their days when lo wakes at 5 am.
Thanks.
