throwing up tin food?
« on: October 09, 2007, 05:08:02 am »
Hi my 7 month old son is on 3 meals a day and just loves it.  I make all his food but occasionally I give him tinned food and he always throws it up.  Does anyone have any idea why he would not tolerate tinned food?

Hi there, does your lo have any allergies or intolerances?  I only ask as it may be that these tinned foods contain certain things your lo cannot tolerate and it may be coincidence that you are buying the tins that DO contain these ingredients.  With home made food, I guess you can monitor what your lo is having, so I imagine, would only be certain ingredients.  If this is the case and maybe these tins contain things your lo is allergic/intolerant to, this may be where the answer lies

The only thing I can think of is that it might just be a different texture than what he's used to with the food you make for him.  The tinned food is probably a thinner or more runny consistency, and maybe his tummy prefers it a bit thicker?

hi no he doesn't have any intolerances that we are aware of.  he has had an allergy test which was negative also.  very confusing.  i really don't mind making his food all the time but sometimes when we are away for the weekend it would be easier if he could have the tinned food.
thanks for your help
