Is this an allergy/intolerance?

DD had a meal of Lamb and Pineapple yesterday for lunch (it was in a jar as I was out and about!).

When I changed her nappy next she was absolutely red raw with nappy rash. 

She didn't have nappy rash when I changed the nappy before and it has since died down an awful lot (although it is still there a little).

Could this be related to the pineapple at all (shes already had lamb)?

She has never had anything citrus based before.

Could it be an allergy/intolerance?  Or just normal nappy rash?

It is possible it could be an allergy/intolerance to the pineapple or some other food the jar may have contained. You could wait until the rash has cleared and give your dd a small amount of pineapple and see if that gives the same reaction. That way you would know it was pineapple rather than something else the food contained.

Pineapple is very acidic and this could have caused the bad nappy rash

Pineapple used to give ds a terrible nappy rash - like Nadia said, it's very acidic

Thanks guys - I'm going to avoid it for a while!  Glad it might not be an allergy though!
