SEARCH RESULTS ARE OLD

How come whenever I make a search, I don't get any results from threads past 2005?  I even tried a common word like "swaddle" which I know was probably used everyday and still it yielded threads in 2005 and 2004 only.

Search results are "weighted" for relevancy and it's not an exact science, especially as we try to balance the load that running searches on the server has.  If you click through to advanced search from the search page, and then change the number of days from 9999 to something like 100 then you should start seeing much more recent posts :)

yes i noticed this as well. sometimes i don't get anything AT ALL recent when i search. is there any way to reconfigure this to show more recent posts as well? for example, i recently searched on "rolling" and nothing came up so i posted. then i was pointed to a recent sticky posted in the last few months that was exactly what i was looking for, even entitled "encouraging rolling". i didn't show up in any of the search results and i went through every page.

If you follow the instructions in my previous post you will get recent results.  There are no plans at present to reconfigure the search :)
