What now?

Hello All

I started sh/patting my 9 week old to sleep 2 weeks ago. By day 3 or 4 she did really well, needing only about 1 minute initially, and then I'd have to go back maybe 4 times for a quick "resettling" pat before she'll sleep for a good 2 hours (mostly).

The last 2 days it feels like we are back at square 1. It took me 1.5 hours last night, 20 minutes with each nap today. I'm already all stressed out about what tonight will be like!

I did not immediatly put her on a full EASY routine. It was just to much of me to keep track of. I worked on getting her to sleep easily and well on her own first, before I'll do the whole thing. Also, I'm still trying to get it all worked out, considering I have to work around my preschoolers activities too. Maybe this is the issue - she needs the WHOLE EASY "thing"?

Today went like this - thus far:
Wake: 7:20
E: 7:30
S:8:15

E:10:20
A:
S: 12:15 (she ate a little before S)

E: 1:45
A:
S: 3:15

I'll give her a bath at 6:30, and then in bed by 7pm. She gets a DF at 11 and usually wakes at 5am to eat.

Does it look OK to you?

Why would she suddenly NOT want to sleep?

Thanks!

How long is she sleeping at each nap, and does she need intervention once she is asleep to stay asleep - like at the 45min mark?

Her 2nd A time seems a bit long - looks like she's just 5min short of 2hrs, and that is too long for a 9wk old - they usually aren't able to handle 2hrs A time till 4mo.  At 9wks I think dd did somewhere around 1hr - 1.5hr total, so that might be why she is fighting her sleep more - possibly overtired.  Again, without knowing how long these naps are exactly, it is hard to say how long each A time is, but that would be my guess seeing what you have posted - that she is getting OT, and having a hard time to settle.  Post back with nap lengths and her evening routine - I am assuming you left out a feeding somewhere in there as well.  We'll take a look and see what else pops out!
