how long does a lactose reaction last?
« on: November 07, 2007, 06:11:44 am »
I think I am going to the store tomarrow to get some lactose free milk.  B only napped 45 min and woke up crying in pain.  not sure what happened but had a rough day with bumping into things cutting his lip on his teeth, we are int he process of moving and such.  so, I put him to bed just after 6:30 and by 7:15 he was asleep.  between 7:15 and 9:45he has woken 4 times.  each time crying out and then moaning until he starts to scream in pain.  after the econd time I gave him gas drops and some tylonol as I am not sure exactly if this is gas or a stomach ache or what.  he went back to sleep and then has woken 2 more times each time it is the same thing.  he is hurting so bad and I just can't do anythign to help him.  the past 2 times I have heard stuff goign up and down like his reflux used to.  he hasn't been on reflux medicine since he was 8 months old, which was also when I stopped drinking liquid milk all together because he seemed more comfortable.  so if he wakes again witht he same up and down happening I was going to give him his old dosage of the medicine to see if it would help him to feel a bit better.  I am goign to call the Ped tomarrow, but I was hoping to get some experience from others.  it just seems this is getting worse an worse byt he day.  he is getting more and more grumpy and having mroe and more issues.

It does sound like it could be his reflux returning. I would definately take him to see his pediatrician. I would also get some lactose free milk.

Big hugs and I hope your ds starts to feel better soon.
