Egg whites
« on: November 13, 2007, 19:58:16 pm »
My daughter is now 13 months old, eats well and so far has had no problems with any kind of food.  Is it now OK for her to eat egg whites?  She´s had egg yolks with no problem.  Thanks!

If your dd has no other food allergies and there is no history of food allergies then I think it would be ok to give egg whites. In the UK they say to wait until 12 months unless ther is a history of food allergies.

Most in the Baby Led weaning group have been giving whole eggs starting at 6 months! (DH gave my LO pumpkin pie at 7 months...no reaction to the egg whites so far.) So you should be fine!
