yoghurt??
« on: November 15, 2007, 11:21:55 am »
Trying to decide which yoghurts are best to give my 15month old. She doesn't eat any fruit, although plenty of veg. She's been cutting back on bottles and is only taking 2 a day, morn and night which amounts to about 425ml a day. A little milk on cereal morning and night and a little cheddar cheese most days. Is this enough dairy for her age or should I give her a yoghurt too? If so which ones are best.
I found that petit filous tend to repeat on her, even hours later after a meal her belches smell of yoghurt(sorry tmi)
At the minute I give her the fruitapura pots. She loves them but they contain no dairy, the ingredients say that they are made from only pueed fruit, small amount of oj and vitamin c.
Any replies appreciated.

we give LO pots of lil' stoney (strawberry & raspberry flavours) and yeo valley full fat natural yoghurt with fruit puree mixed in. The raspberry lil' stoneys repeat a bit, but at least the smell isn't unpleasant :) and it doesn't seem to bother DS!

We use just plain, full-fat yogurt and mix in a small amount of fruit juice or fruit puree for flavor - the fruit yogurt in the store has a ton of sugar (at least here in the US!)

hi -

we have been feeding our DD (now 21 mos.) plain greek yogurt since she was about 9 months old.  it is very thick, almost the consistency of sour cream.  she loves it even though we do not sweeten it with anything.

I got the tip from Anabel Karmel.

good luck !

Full-fat plain Greek or Yeo Valley yogurts here, usually dolloped on some fruit for a bit of variety :)

Since my dd was 6 months old, now 20 months old, we've been giving her 1 Stoney Field Yo Baby Organic Yogurt a day.  She loves it.
I am so in love with my husband and adore my precious Grace
