WOW!!!  :o
I guess I am a little jaded because my 2 year old DD (almost 3) has slept from 7pm to 7am since she was 10 weeks old.  She took 2 LONG naps a day until about 3 months ago and now naps from 1-3:30 everyday.
She has slept this way through sickness, teething, new home, vacations, and sleeping at nana's and aunties houses.
I just assumed my DS would be the same. :(

He is most definatley HUNGRY when he is waking because he is taking a 7oz bottle at that time - so until he shows signs of not being interested in the food - but just waking out of habit I am not going to attempt to elimating that feeding.

I think so much of it is temperament.

According to Dr. Marc Weisbluth and others, "sleeping through the night", medically speaking, is 6 hours.  So for that, 4-5 months is quite reasonable.

I was just going by the table in the Baby Whisperer book.  It says that a baby that is 1-3 months should sleep 8 hours in the evening and 3-6 months should sleep 10-12 hours.

I guess it didn't mean without waking.  :-)

Jenn~Your daughter is definately the exception--not the rule--she was still taking two naps at the age when mine was starting to drop her nap completely. ::)

Just another example to make you feel better:

DD--had at least 2 night feeds until 6 months, one until 10 months, STILL didn't sleep straight through from bed to morning until 18 months, and that was far from every night, but maybe half the time.  At 3.5, she wakes up at least once a night most nights--maybe sleeps through with no cry-out about once or twice a week.

DS--woke every 3-4 hours almost every single night until about 6 months.  Is almost 13 months now and the longest strectch I've ever gotten out of him is 7.5/8 hours.  And anything over 5 hours is very rare.  Stopped his last night feed at 11.5 months or so, but still wakes at 5 am and takes a full feeding.

So you aren't doing too bad, really.  I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat (well, for the sleeping bit--don't get me wrong, I love my own kiddos ;) ;D)
