Hmmm, any thoughts?
« on: December 20, 2007, 16:29:01 pm »
First, allow me to apologize for never being online anymore. Life with these 2 kiddos is way more hectic than I thought. And we STILL don't have internet at home. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Anywhooo,

Julian was a CRAP napper for the first 6 weeks of life. I'm talking somedays he didn't nap at all!! I wasn't a fan of swaddling since Santiago was spirited and hated it. But Paula suggested giving it a try and BOY! what a difference. I'm talking 3 naps of 2 hours each and soon after sleeping through the night. So for the past 10 days Julian (11weeks) has been sleepng through and napping great. Until yesterday.... he's started waking at the 45 min mark and 50% not going back to sleep. The other times it takes about 10-15 mins to get him back asleep. Nights have been unaffected though. I thought maybe he was catching the cold Santiago and I had, but he's booger and cough free, so I doubt it. He also doesn't take the pacifier correctly while I'm re-settling, he kinda plays with it until about the 10 min mark and then as soon as he takes it properly he nods off soon after. He takes the paci perfectly all other times, so it's kinda confusing....

Any thoughts??

Could he be getting the 3 mo growth spurt a little early?

Bec, is he really 11 weeks already?!

I know Jess, I can barely believe it myself! He's such a big boy!

3 month growth spurt also passed through my mid, but wouldn't he be hungry at the 45 min mark? He's not interested in feeding at that time. And since nights are also unaffected it leads me to believe it's just a nap issue.  He's woken up at the 45 min mark on his 3 naps today, tried W2S on this last nap and it didn't work. Going to keep trying it through tomorrow and the next day to see if it helps. but just think it's weird he was napping so well and then this.

Well it's always something you know  ;)  Regression is totally normal though so I'd just stay stay consistent and I bet he'll settle back down in a couple days.  :-*
