She finally settled at about 6:40pm, and then I heard her at 10pm but she settled herself.  She was crying again at 3:30am- I tried WI/PD/WO, but she went hysterical, so I stayed by her crib a few mins and though she cried when I left, she was relatively quiet.  Then she chattered away for awhile, and woke up about 6:10am.

Isn't unreal how quick OT sets in?

We have our music class today, so we won't be home before 11am, which means her nap won't be until 11:10am the earliest.  Hopefully this will shake out in a few days- I'm tired again.

Wonky is the right word...

6:10am Awake
Nap 11:10am-12:02pm
4:46pm Bedtime

I think we're in for more NWs and another EW.

Still tired here.

Anybody want to move to NY?

It seems like things have gotten worse!

Last night she woke after 45 mins, I stayed by her crib about 10 mins and she went back to sleep (YAY).  But I heard her almost every hour after 1am, and she woke for the day at 5:27am.

Do I keep the nap at 11am?

Hi Leslie
Sorry haven't been on for a while.  I would leave the nap at 11am still.  Like MommaHolmes said after her illness and the fact that although things where improving she wasn't yet fully settled on 1 nap, its like starting all over again.  It took her a few weeks before to settle down and naps start extending so stick with it and it will come round again.
Regarding SA Lily definitely does suffer from SA, infact she is only just coming out of a real bad bout at Xmas time.  Its natural really after being unwell and getting lots of extra special treatment that when they get better and you stop going so softly softly with them, that they will think "hey whats going on, I was enjoying that!" I do agree its not necessarily that they are scared you wont ever come back but more that they don't want you to leave and will try everything to keep you there.  If you do leave they are going to get genuinely upset and hurt because they can't understand why you would leave when they are making it so plain they want you there.
What I do for Lily is use GW everytime it gets to the point where I get stuck in her room at sleep times.  Then when I'm out of the room I use wi/pd/wo whenever necessary to get her back to sleep either at night or broken naps.  I have found that gw is one of those techniques that the more you have to use it the less time it takes to get back on track.  So if I where you I would start with the gw now, by staying in her room to just get her to sleep for a few days then start moving closer to door everyday till you are outta there!  Before I had ever done wi/pd/wo I had to do gw as I was stuck in with lily till she was asleep.  I know that if I had just started the wi/pd/wo without slowly getting out of room first she would of screamed the house down for hours.

Oh my goodness... I'm going to lose it.  She slept 30 mins!  That's it!  And now she's miserable (and so am I).  I don't think I'm going to survive this nightmare.

new mum- I think that's what was happening iwth Madeline.  She screamed every time I did WI/PD/WO.  I'm going to stick with gradual withdrawal for now.

Best plan i think, it will help her get to sleep easier and on time so help get over this OT.

Will keep my fingers crossed she sleeps well tonight, I know it doesn't always happen but Lily sometimes used to hit such rock bottom with OT that she would suddenly do a really solid nights sleep then provided I got the nap right the next day would bounce back quite quickly.

Just keep in mind that her naps had started to improve from 30mins a day to over an hour, she will get there again  :-*

Don't worry, there IS light at the end of the tunnel - we are living proof!!
I found that there were peaks and troughs when going through this transition. Often when they hit rock bottom, they do have to catch up again.
A few more days of consistency and things will start to settle down.
Honestly  :-*

It's so dark here- I can't see the light!

She woke an hour after bedtime today, and again I put my hand on her back a few mins and stayed next to her crib a few mins, and about 25 mins later she was B2S.  I guess we're in for another EW tomorrow.

Did I mention how much I hate naps?

Ugh- I have the flu, and M was up last night at 7:55pm and need help settling, and I heard her at 9:45pm, but she settled herself, and then woke again at 5:27am.  I'm so darn tired.

I really hope she takes a longer nap today.

Oh poor you, nothing worst than being sick with a LO to look after. I hope M takes a decent nap and that you feel better very soon. If she wakes again at 5.27am then maybe you should think about W2S, I don't know if it has worked for me before or if things just right themselves but it would be worth a try  :)

bloody puter!!!! I typed a reply then when i went to post it crashed.  So here it is again  :)

Oh boy! it never rains but it pours doesn't it  ::) I hope you feel better real soon  :)

Regarding the early wake ups, what I did with L when she had SA and was waking early during this transition, was to go in lay her down a few times if necessary then I would curl up on her floor and go to sleep myself.  I had an old cot mattress under her cot which I would pull out a pillow & a blanket handy and I always made sure I put socks on before going in to keep my feet warm! She would normally stand up and keep crying for a while but would after a while would fall back to sleep herself.  In fact many times I would wake up in her room and see her asleep, sitting up with her face pressed up against the rails, where she had just sat looking at me until she finally fell asleep! Oh yes and I would always where ear plugs just to reduce her volume a little ;)

HUGS hope you feel better soon  :-*

Can I complain some more please?

I'm sooooo tired of
  *being tired
  *EWs
*naps not lasting more than 30-40 mins
  *NWs

My mom came today so I could catch up on a little rest.  She put M down at 10:48am, and she was yelling at 11:28am.  I ran in there and she went b2s for another 30 mins on me, which took us til about noon..  I thought that would help bedtime, but she fell asleep about 4:50pm, and was crying at 5:24pm.  GW, and b2s by 5:40pm.

I'm ready to trade her in for a 1 y/o that sleeps!

1 more question- in view of her OT, do I continue to put her down at 11am for 1 nap?
