2pm it was then  ;)

42mins for a morning nap is really not bad at all for her age, even if she only does another 45mins thats still not bad amoubt of day sleep, especially after a good nights sleep.  Its great that she doing 4hrs A time as until she fell ill, she was beginning to do really well on 1 nap, so all perfectly normal  :)

Crossing fingers for a good nap  :-*

38 mins!  That was the afternoon nap, from 2:07pm-2:45pm.

So she's now having two naps per day of around 40 mins and sleeping 11+ hours at night.
Things are definitely improving. Stick with the naps and bedtime where they are (9:15am, 2pm and 6:30pm) for the next week.

What I think will help the MOST is if you resist the temptation to look at the clock when she falls asleep and when she wakes up so you can time everything to the minute! Stick to the schedule and RELAX about it all - you are doing the best you can and she is sleeping better, it doesn't matter if she has some naps of 38 mins and some of 47 or 52 or whatever. Just enjoy the break you get when she's asleep and put your feet up for 5 mins or 3 mins 45 at least  ;)

I do need to relax, don't I?

We're signed up for a Mommy and Me class beginning Thursday.  Of course I thought she was transitioning to 1 nap, so I chose the early (9am-10:15am) class.  Should I skip it this week?  Or should I try to move into the later class (10:30am-11:45am)?

Why does this have to be so complicated!!!

Hi Leslie, can you go to the later class this week and see how things go? I agree with the others that you should just be happy with the 2 naps a day, Leorah hardly ever slept past 40 mins when she was on 2 naps as you know and we'd get at least one 30 minute nap most days. Get her a bit more well rested and when her wake ups are later again I'd try going for one nap again and perhaps let her have a 15/20 minute catnap late afternoon that you wake her from. Twenty mins buys a bit more time before bed but shouldn't be enough to refresh her for a bedtime battle, I really avoided the dreaded OT doing this.

Enjoy your class, hopefully the fun stimulation will buy you a good PM nap  :)

We're soooo tired...

Last night:

6:19pm Bedtime
7:43pm 1st NW, b2s in about 10 mins
3:41am 2nd NW, b2s at 4:50am
5:33am Awake for the day

 ::)

One step forward and 2 back.

It's probably more like two steps forward and one back - try and see the progress and not just the problems (I know that's hard - I probably would have taken a swing at anyone suggesting that to me when we were in the thick of OT hell, but hey, you can't reach me from here  ;D)

Agreed on the class - see if you can switch to the later one for the time being.

Things generally do get worse before things getter better.  Just remember we aren't focusing on 1 day or night, we are looking at a whole week.  Give it time, just like you did with the 1 nap and things will improve  :)

Are you still giving meds for sleep? JMO but I totally would for this week.

We can't catch a break- M now has a cold and cough.

This morning she slept 36 mins, and I extended another 36 mins.

By 12:45pm, she was rubbing her eyes.  I started wind down at 1:45pm, and she was still fighting me.  Just went to sleep at 2:20pm, so I guess it'll be another short nap.

Having fun, and wish you all were here  :'(

Momma Holmes- you're right- I would take a swing if you were close by  ;)

33 min nap this afternoon, so for her that usually means OT.  Is 2pm too late for afternoon nap?

Can I put her to bed earlier, or will that screw up the "schedule"?

I'd put her to bed earlier.

Think I'm probably contradicting the advice I've given you so far but I don't think it's as important to fix bedtime - the more nighttime sleep she can get the better and if she'll go down earlier, put her down earlier.

I agree, its the naps that we are trying to fix, which when sorted will sort the nights out by themselves, so if clearly OT put her to bed a bit earlier, just not too much earlier, there is a balance between the length of OT night sleep she will do and bedtime, you don't want an OT night to cause an earlier wake up in am.

Fingers crossed she goes to bed OK tonight and gets better soon  :-*

Not a terrible night...

5:53pm Bedtime
6:33pm 1st NW
7:43pm 2nd NW
8:42pm 3rd NW
10:17pm 4th NW
5:38am Awake for the day

She settled herself with all the NWs, so that's a good sign right?

With the refusal of the afternoon nap the last 3 days until she's OT (I think), should I move the nap up to 1:30pm?

And is there anything to do about the cough, other than the humidifier?

It took me til 9:30am to get her to sleep this morning, and she was fighting me like she does in the afternoon.  Is she UT or OT?

I think I need to start meditating.
