She slept about 45 mins, then woke up crying  :(

I think you're right Momma Holmes- I'll stick with the 10am nap for 30 mins, and then have her in crib at 1:30pm (today it was 1:45pm, running late- not sure if that had anything to do with the resistance) for a few days.

Tonight I had her in bed at 3 hours 5 mins A time post nap, but she didn't fall asleep until 3 hours 45 mins A time post nap.  I'm wondering if I'm not putting her down too early, and she's getting restless b/c she's not quite tired enough.  She's never been one to play in her crib before sleep.

I myself was in bed at 7:40pm last night, but I still feel tired  :P

You have the market cornered with 2 kids- I'm struggling with one!  Hope you get some much needed rest tonight!

Night:

6:44pm- 5:44am

It seems if she goes to bed after 6:20pm, she wakes before 6am.

Looks tired this morning (I can't wait until she stops tugging at her ears and rubbing her nose from OT)

I'm still aiming for 30 min nap at 10am, despite the early wake up, right?

EGAD!

She almost fell asleep during lullaby, and she slept 9:50am-10:19am.  Is this OT?  Still nap at 1:20pm?

does seem like she was very tired, see how she goes if you need to put her down a little earlier then do but only about 15mins so it doesn't just throw her of again.  At least thats what I would  do  :)

Keep things very low key to preserve her energy till nap time.

Prob cos she had an early morning. Would stick with nap at 1:30 - just stick with it, stick with it, stick with it for the next few days  ;D

Also, keep your bedtimes 6pm or earlier - I find that Ollie does well with either a 5:30pm bedtime or a 7pm one, anything in between and it just takes him ages to get to sleep  ::)

We're having fun over here - Ol slept 13 hours last night, but still no nap today (that's 3 days in a row!). Amy has been up since 6:45, had 20 min am nap (!), 45 min lunchtime nap (!!) and refused her pm nap (!!!). Somehow got to get two kids into bed before 6pm by myself  :P

Leslie, how did pm nap go?

Laura, Ollie is a master no napper, he beats Lily anyday.

We did have a no napper today but she is OT.  She got a cold sunday and did a 1.5hr nw, fortunately after initial PD she just talked to herself until she fell back to sleep, monday had a temp of 39.1, took a good long nap but then had multiple nws, tuesday temp of 38.5, OT nap and multiple nws, today almost back to normal temp but still higher than her usual, no nap and in bed sparko by 6.15pm.  We will see what tonight brings  ::)  Of course now I am coming down with the monster cold too.  Lovely  ;)

Hope you all have a better night than I will probably have  :)

Ugh- refusing PM nap again.  It's been 45 mins, and I think I'm just going to leave her in there.  I can't take it anymore!

Has she gone to sleep yet?

I can't help but think that we are now finally back where this thread started.  She is much more caught up on sleep than she was but 2 naps just don't seem to be doing it.  JMO but I do think you either want to cut am nap to 20mins or drop it completely and try 1 nap again.  Personally I could only take so much stick with Lily's naps before I just went for it with 1 nap.  She really wasn't ready for 1 nap at all and I still had loads more flack trying to get that 1 nap past 45mins and her out of OT hell, plus correct all the APOP.  BUT it was worth it in the end and it was so much easier coping with just 1 nap nightmare a day than 2.

1 hour 15 mins later and still no nap  >:(  >:(

I feel like I'm going around in circles...

UPDATE- my mom's here today, and after 75 mins couldn't take it anymore.  She went in to her room and I suspect is rocking her to sleep, ruining all of my efforts this week.  I could scream forever.

If I try 1 nap again, what time is it?  I'm so sick of this little girl, I can't tell you.

Is that the same Grandma that introduced the 12 min nap  ???

Actually, I shouldn't criticise - grandparents are a godsend, even if they do throw spanners in the works by doing things that you really really don't want them to do, at least they stop you throwing yourself off a cliff cos you never get a break!
Also, M can tell the difference between you and Granny - so as long as YOU are consistent with the WI/PD/WO strategy it will continue to be successful.

Yep, I am with Nic on the 1 nap thing. Let's go back to Strategy A (as opposed to B,C,D,E...!) and go with a 1 nap plan - ultimately that's where you want to be, you're going to have to transition at some point soon anyway, you'll only have to do all this rubbish once a day instead of twice so let's get it over and done with  ;D

Just had a read back over your thread (it's a v v useful diary actually!) and 11:30 nap / 5pm bedtime was what was working before she got poorly. The logic being that she shouldn't have more than 4.5hr A time between nap and bed.

Definitly don't stress over Grandma rocking her, she really will know that it doesn't mean you are going to do it too, so nothing ruined  :)

So we are agreed then, 1 nap it is  :)

At least this time if anything goes wrong you know whats needed to striagten things out, the rigid by the clock 2 naps really did help, so you now have a working back up plan too  ;)

Don't know if you can face it but if I where you I would go back and read this post upto the point where she got ill and you went back to 2 naps.  It should help prevent you going down too many wrong turns along the way.

I do think though, now she isn't being rocked to sleep, not by you anyway that this time should be easier.

Same grandma- HA!  I shouldn't let her in, right?

If I'm having this much trouble now, I really can't wait until she starts refusing naps all together like Lily and Ollie.  God help me!

Are we sure about 1 nap?  I'm scared!!! as I suspect she'll be up before 6am tomorrow, so a nap at 11:30am would mean > 5.5 hours A time.  Won't we have some serious OT?  Also worried that she'll fall right to sleep during lullaby-?

Nic's right - reread the first few pages of this thread and remind yourself what happened last time.

You *could* start with a nap at 11am but then you risk her taking only 30 mins nap and having to either have an A time longer than 4.5hours before bed (and likely a crappy night and EW) or having to put her to bed at 4pm! It's the pm A time that seems to have the most effect on OT - it's better for them to have an OT nap than an OT night, cos they can catch up so much more sleep overnight.

If you're not happy to go the 1 nap route then DON'T DO IT!! Nic & I are giving you our best advice based on what has worked for us but the most important factor in the success of any strategy is that YOU believe it is the right thing to do. If you want to stick with 2 naps for a bit longer then say so and we will support you through that.

absolutely, its totally your call.  I just really doubt 2 naps are going to work properly again.  Its up to you and we are here for you whatever you decide  :)

The train is off the track again  :o

I let her sleep 25 mins yesterday til 3:05pm, after my mom rocked her, thinking she wouldn't go to bed early if I let her sleep anymore.  Tried to put her in bed at 6pm, she didn't fall off til about 6:30pm.  Then she was up screaming at 4:12am, I thought maybe teeth so I gave some meds, she went b2s quickly, but then was up in 30 mins, and 1 WI/PD/WO later, she was b2s for another hour, up for the day at 6:05am.

I think Sunday when she slept 65 mins in the morning and then only another 10 in the afternoon derailed us.

But how do I fix it?

And you girls have no idea how much your support means to me- it's keeping alive!
