How are my favorite moms???

We did go to music class today, had her in for a nap at 11:15am, and she slept exactly 1 hour, til 12:15pm.  Bedtime at 4:50pm today.

I have 2 more questions...

1) Tomorrow we have a GE appt at 10:30am.  I plan on going early and hope we get out of there quick.  If we're late for the nap, will that screw up all of this work?

2) How do I know when I can move the nap later?

Hope you all had a good day.

Leslie

I wouldn't worry too much about having the nap later, the first time I did this is the time I got the longest nap I had in months. I guess if you can stick  to her usual nap time it will be best but as I said before I thinnk it's the second A time that causes the biggest problems. How was your night?

We had a good night-

Bed at 4:50pm
Heard her moaning at 1:30am (about 8 hours after Ibuprofen), but she settled herself
Woke at 6:40am

YAAAYYYY Madeline!

Next question- how long does it take these molars to come in?  It seems like she's been working on them for about a month!

Argh!! teeth  >:(

It can take ages, absolutly ages.  Lily's teeth take longer to cut with every new tooth.  She has been working on canines for at least 3months and still nothing  :o  Will keep my fingers crossed she doesn't take to long.

On a brighter note.  YAYYYYYYY!!!! not bad naps at all and wake ups getting later.  FANTASTIC  ;D ;D ;D You must be feeling so much better about her sleep now.  I'm very happy for you  :)

Don't stress if you've got appointments that mean she has to have a slightly later nap. Keep with the consistency the rest of the week and you'll be fine. It's possible she may have a bit of a blip but this time you'll know what caused it so won't have to expend all that mental energy trying to work out what's gone on!

As for moving the nap later as part of your routine, I'd do a full week of the 11:30/5pm routine and then push it all on a MAX of 15 mins (so 11:45/5:15) for another 3 or 4 days and if you have no major probs then push it on another 15 mins and so on.

Sounds like you are doing great - well done mummy!!

Woohoo, way to go Madeline  ;D ;D ;D

Hopefully she will be like Leorah and start to have really long nights even if she does stay a shorter napper. I don't know if it's teething or a bug but L slept less than an hour today, she was OT before she went down at 4hrs15 (normally 4hrs30) and then I couldn't find her lovey which is a dummy with beads so everything was wrong  >:( This afternoon she had a slight temp and we have so much snot going on (sorry TMI) so I have to join you in the teething agony, we are waiting on canines  ::) Fingers crossed that M and L and of course all the other babies have a good long night tonight  ;)

Just when you think things may go smoothly...

We got back from the doctor late, and she fell asleep in the car (about 5 mins from home) at 11:40am.  She was in her crib by 11:51am, and slept until 12:57pm.  Pretty good nap.  But after lunch, she vomited.  5 x actually.  Don't know if it's a virus or what.  I feel so bad for her- she was clearly miserable.

The next question- what do I do with the nap when she's sick?  Move it up?  Leave it as is?

I have no answer Leslie. Leorah is sick too but with a fever and is listless, maybe teething related as the doc thinks she is one of the unlucky few that are very troubled by teeth. I guess you just have to go with the flow, Leorah slept until 7.40am today and then at around 10.20 we realised she was asleep sitting up on DH's lap! She only slept for around half an hour and I put her down again at 11.50am and she fell asleep, was woken 40 mins later by the neighbours and is now asleep again hanging over the pram!! I think Madeline may need more than one nap today, when Leorah is vomitting she usually drifts on and off throughout the day on the sofa.

Poor baby, hope she is well soon, I find things go back to how they were when L is better and sometimes even get a longer nap  ;)

Poor thing! 5 x puking is not fun  :(
Try and be flexible while she's sick and let her have an extra sleep if she seems to need one. Hopefully it'll just be a 24 hr thing and she'll be OK by the morning and then you can go back to your routine.

Hope she feels better soon  :-*

So... we spent the night in the ER, and M had to get an IV.  I think she slept about 3-4 30 min naps, and 3-4 45 min naps.  It blew :'(

I wish M would drift on the sofa- she would never take a snooze like that.

Oh well, I guess we'll see what today brings.

Poor little thing, I hope she feels better soon.  As others have said, forget routine when poorly just go by your insticts and her needs.

Will keep my fingers crossed it passes quickly  :-*

Thanks for the kind wishes...

She was only up about 2 hours between naps today, the morning nap was about 3 hours and the afternoon nap about 1 hour 45 mins.  Poor tired baby.

Hopefully she's on the mend.

Poor Madeline, it is an awful situation but to take something good from it she is catching up on a lot of sleep, it is just a shame she had to be so poorly to do it.

I hope she's heaps better today  :)
