Great Kelly!

Katy, yes I thought of a wall hanging (could use a quilt etc...) on a wrought iron curtain rod and change it like you say.  Then after researching, I saw a good idea to use bookshelves bolted to the wall.  You take you the bottom shelves out but then the top shelves are useful for all his stuff that he needs in the night etc...still thinking.  We are painting next week.

Casey, I cried when DH and N took the crib downstairs all apart in pieces.  :( :-[ ::)

I do enjoy when he wakes up from nap and comes sauntering down the hall to see us and says: "I wake up."  :D

<g> kelly -- theron himself says "ferrun" if asked, but if you ask him what his name is, he'll say "toby" (after toby the tram!)

another good night in the big boy bed. theron knows we're taking the crib apart today after his morning signing time dvd.

i remember that transition from hammock to crib too  :) i think i was still swaddling to an extent at that stage (with one of those gro-bags things that you can snuggle tighter with velcro), so he was well wrapped up and snug. it went surprisingly easy -- i think we tried for one nap and after that worked just carried on with the rest, and night time. i sure loved that hammock though!

let us know how both of your big boys do :D

I'm sure there's a storm brewing, both transitions have gone really well so far!  Zander's taken to his bed like he's always been there (and can't stop sleeping, he's turned into his dad!).  I put Nate down in the cot tonight and he was off in about 10 minutes, after the initial upset at realising he wasn't being put down in his hammock.  He's not been swaddled for a long time but I tucked him in tightly with a sheet over his sleeping bag to make sure he felt nice and snug.  There's not a full moon tonight is there?!!

We'll have to all take some photos of our big boys in their beds!

It's not too far off for us.  K is saying she wants to sleep on "the frog".  It's a stuffed animal/chair that's perfect pillow height so DH and I use it when we sleep on the floor in her room.  Keep us posted...

aw bless, aisling. can you get a pic? i have one of theron having a good old bed party before bathtime one night. i'll have to see if i can dig it out!

last night we had some cry outs in his sleep, but he has stayed put in his room. today we even got a 2.5 hour nap out of it.

what's funny, is if we ask him how he slept, he says "big boy bed." which i suppose is technically true, but not the "good" answer you expect from the question  :P

eta the pic in question. i hasten to point out this is not how i put him to bed, but was the end result of him pulling every blankie, soft toy, and pillow that he has into the bed, then looking very pleased with himself!

Cute Picture of Theron.  Aedric does this as well, then everything off the shelves etc, which is why his dresser and books are all out in the hall.

thankfully he only does it while awake and not when he's supposed to be sleeping. but i'm sure that's only a matter of time, right?  ;)

Very cute pic, Katy!  Theron does look mighty pleased.

Aisling - Lots of hugs.  I know how it feels to be clobbered sometimes as how quickly they grow... :-*

Great Katy!

OK UPDATE! LONG!

Here are some shots, not the greatest.  I took some from last night sleeping etc...and today before his nap reading his books (with the flashlight but the pics are hard to see that it was dark.) I ordered his duvet, sheets etc...from Target.com but won't be able to pick them up at my friends in the USA until Feb 1. so he has his sheets which are lovely and cozy flannel and fleece as it is -10 here and he has my plush blanket on top.

DH will start painting the room on the weekend.  8)  I have decided for the headboard to go with funky shelves, mirrors and this huge photo frame that I can put massive pics of all our family, friends or even Bob the builder if he likes as a photo montage to look at. At the footboard, I will get a trunk that he can put in toys, blankets and various treasures. The double (full) bed is so lovely and big, we love it!  ;D He looks so comfy in it though, I can't imagine the twin or toddler for him. We have no bed frame and I will cover the boxspring with a dust ruffle/bed skirt like DH and I have.  We don't have a frame either as we like sleeping low to the ground, I know weird. ::) 8)  I have the bed against the wall and no rail.  I put a body pillow on the floor at the open side in case he fell off, but he didn't as he crams himself right up against he wall or sleeps on a diagonal (like me!) I went in today to check at 7am (up for a wee  ::) ) and he was sleeping horizontally, so I moved and covered him and I slept next to him but lay feet to head and he woke at 8am and shouted, "Mummy, Daddy wake!" He didn't realise I was in the bed as I put his huge teddy between us!  Is it ever so comfy and cozy in there...I may move in with him!  ;)

The fisherprice aquarium is gone now.  He goes to sleep with his doggy flashlight and books, his fibre optic angel and his IKEA Spoka lights on his dresser for a night light ( I turn them all off once asleep and the light from the clock radio is good enough for a nightlight) and I play music on the CD/clock radio too.  We still use the fan for white noise during the night and also to drown out early a.m noises etc...DH also installed a ceiling fan as he loves them and he zones out on it at night when falling asleep. I may get that Tomy constellation turtle and I want to get a leafy canopy over the bed like they have at IKEA to make a tent like effect.

Loads of changes, but good fun!  He loves it.
