EASY for a 12 mo baby going down to one nap!
« on: January 06, 2008, 20:43:43 pm »
I'm a second time mom, but I don't remember how I did it the first time. ::)

I'm looking for some advice about helping transition my 12 m/o DD (Angel/textbook) into one nap.  What should her EASY schedule look like??  How many bottles should she have as she is having 3 solid meals a day??

Currently, her routine looks like this:

EAT
5:30-6:45 Wake + bottle
7:30 - Breakfast
Activity.... play etc
EAT (but sometimes needs a catnap here)
10:00/10:30 - bottle
11:30 / 12:00 lunch
SLEEP
EAT
2:00/3:00 - snack/bottle
ACTIVITY
EAT
5:00 dinner
SLEEP
7:00 - bedtime

Am I doing this right??  I am worried she is having too many bottles.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

At 12 months I was giving all milk with meals.  Not everyone does this though.  I think the most important thing with milk is that she is getting the amount adviced by your doctor.

Is she waking at night?

At 12 months we only had the night time bottle left.  We started whole milk at 11. 5 months (formula for the last feed only) and just gave sippys of milk through out the day along with water sippys.  It took Grace a good month or more to really like milk but she now chugs it. :)

For the nap switch, be sure to check out the 2-1 nap thread under TODDLER SLEEP!

It looks like she has a whole lot of A time in the morning (with out the cat nap).  When they normally switch to one nap they have about 5 hours of A time in the morning and nap and then about 5 hours of A time before bed...give or take.

You also show that you lo sleeps after dinner and then comes bed time.  I am a bit confused by that....could you clarify.  Thanks  :)

A typical one nap day looks something like this....

6am wake up
11-1 nap
6/6:30 bed

of course it all depends on when your lo woke up.  When they move to one nap you may have to bring bed time up just a tad to compensate.
