Daycare does usually mess their sleep up for a while. I would put her to bed a little earlier than usual until she gets used to it and sleeps better there, although 1.5 hours is pretty good for a daycare environment. It sounds like she is a bit OT by bedtime, which would make sense if she isn't sleeping as well there.

she is suspicious of strangers.  she is NOT shy around people she's comfortable with - she's crazy and laughing and bossy.  but i'm sure she doesn't feel comfortable there yet.

cath - i was surprised when i saw she had slept for 1.5 hours.  i wonder though if it's usually like that KWIM?  because i agree that 1.5 hour nap is great, but she seems so OT when I pick her up that i don't think it's always that long.

Maybe it's a matter of overstimulation?

that could be it, jess.  i know this is a big change for her.  a lot of new stuff going on plus napping about 30-45 minutes later in a new place.

Hey Melissa...

She definetly sounds OT but I bet it's more of getting worn out there and not taking the best nap that's an issue and not the total amount of sleep.  Regardless of its challenges, this is probably a really structured schedule that she WILL get used to soon, I bet in a month she'll handle it much better.  She's old enough to handle it and I really think she will!

Hang in there with it, it will get better!!   :-*  BIG adjustment, but one that will be really rewarding for you all (I think!)  ;)
