The dairy challenge
« on: January 14, 2008, 15:37:17 pm »
Now abbi is one, we have been given the go ahead for the dairy challenge, so far 4 tsps of yoghurt have produced no reaction  ;D ;D ;D ;D Cant get hold of the dietican  ::) and cant remember what she said, she said something like, after she can tolerate a full yoghurt, move on to cheese

What cheese would be best to try first, any idea anyone?

I am so glad its going smoothly so far!   ;D

It is best to try a hard cheese first. Cheddar is a popular choice usually.

Ooo, good luck :)

I was going to say a cheddar as well - as you know, ds is milk intolerant, but he can manage cheddar cheese really well, so he gets lots of it for the calcium. We've recently discovered he's OK on Parmesan too :D

Certainly is, and it means that he can have things in restaurants that we'd normally have to steer clear of. Like today we went to Pizza Hut for lunch ( :-[ :-[ OK maybe not a great example :P)

I hope so :)

Did you try the rice milk?

Yep, the rice milk made my fairy cakes much tastier, she likes it as a lunchtime drink too. My dietician warned me that whole milk will prob be the one thing that poses the most problems.

And dont be  :-[ :-[ at Pizza hut, I am jealous, I need to get us all there on pay day now  ;D

Oh, I'm glad that went well, it makes things so much easier. And that's true about the whole milk, it does awful things to ds's tummy :-X (I'm not too great on it myself)

OK, now we're talking about Pizza Hut, I've got that stupid song in my head. Hee hee, it's nice to share, enjoy ;)
