hates getting into car seat

I know this is common...but my son suddenly hates getting into his car seat. He screams and arches his back. He is usually fine about 1 min into the ride. My question is...any tricks to get him fastened in...other than physically holding him down?

I give dd my car keys to play with whilse I put her in lol, simple but effective, lo's just cant seem to resist keys, they distract them perfectly

thanks for the suggestion; I haven't done that as I was afraid we would fight when I needed him back. I have tried a toy, but of course that is not as fun as mommy's keys! Would you believe that this problem has gone away simply becuase my husband is back in town. He was goen for 1 week and in that week Sam threw tantrums in the car, when putting his coat on, brushing his teeth and nigth time was horrid! Now that my husband is back everything is fine. My husband typically travels every few months for a weeks or so and this is the first time there has been a problem. ANyone else have similar experience.
