Amount of A time
« on: January 23, 2008, 12:08:30 pm »
My lo is nearly 7 months (on the 1st feb) She is only able to do 2 hours a time max. After about an hour of being awake she becomes really miserable and i find it really hard to keep her amused for that last hour but if i put her down she short naps.

This is her routine at mo

E 6 wake and formula
A
E solids at 7:30
S 8 - 9:30

E 10
A
E Solids 11:30
S 11:45 - 1:30

E 2
A
e SOLIDS 3:30
S 3:45 - 4:30

E 6 and then to bed by half past

I know she really likes her sleep, but sometimes she is so tired she dont want to do much and i am worried she will not develop. She is showing no signs of wanting to crawl and she is just about able to sit alone.

Probally just paranoid but just wondered if any one else experienced this.

S

Do you have to wake her from the naps or in the morning? Maybe she can handle each nap (apart from the last one) to be a few minutes longer? Or bedtime 10 minutes earlier...

My DS didn't crawl until he was 11 months old, now he turned two and draws numbers and trains  ;D

At 7 months he didn't even turn over yet, had max 2 hours A-time and was on three naps... However, enough sleep is crucial for happy babies, so if she seems tired maybe she can sleep a while longer somewhere...

But don't worry, sounds as if she is doing fine  :-*

No i dont have to wake her from naps she wakes alone. She definately needs her sleep to be happy if she is late for a nap she will be very miserable.

Thanks for your advice glad to hear there are others experienceing the same things.

How would it work to put her down a wee bit earlier? Would she wake earlier, too?

Also, DS used to get tired after 1h A-time if he was teething...

Yeah she is also teething bad at mo bottom two have popped through but i think the top ones will be showing an appearance too.

When putting her down last night she created and just wanted to be up with us. I think she might be starting to go through abit of seperation anxiety too, but ths only happens on the evenings.

She is starting nursery soon and i think i am just worried about how she is going to get on. I actually work in the nursery also so although that is a good thing you just worry what people are going to say and i will end up arguing.

Teething and sep anxiety often go hand in hand. Teething was the trigger for DS sep anx.

She may also feel that you are a bit anxious about nursery, but I'm sure she will do fine :)

For the A-time, Scotty was always less able to make it through when he was teething
