night wakings for 35mo and 21mo
« on: February 01, 2008, 12:55:54 pm »
It's been at least 5 nights that my 35mo DD and 21mo DS have been waking up at around 10-10:30 every night and wouldn't go back to  sleep for almost 2hrs. They sleep in the same as we only have a 2 bedroom house. We would sit down intheir room until they're asleep then go, and my DD would usually wake up at around 5-6 am and sleep in our bed. WE never EVER felt her coming in. As for my DS, he would usually sleep till the morning in his crib.
DH and I have decided to teach them independent sleep with the wI/WO.
My kids scream and cry really loud as soon as we leave the room. Do we still count until 5 before going in again and then progressively increasing the time?
I'm hoping to be consistent, especially during the night, when I'm really tired.
I will need a lot of support.

doesn't lay down

My DS doesn't want to lay down and come out of his crib right after I leave the room. What should i do? Right now I'm trying to put them to sleep for the night doing the WI/WO.
My DD just cries but she is at least staying in bed unlike my son. He thinks that it's a game and keep coming out of his crib.
DD is 35mo and DS is 21mo.
Can anybody help?

Hi Zaikamaya...

Just wanted to let you know that we are here to support you all the way. You must be exhausted with 2 toddlers not sleeping... stick to it & before you know it they will ;D

Does your 35mo still nap? Did you want to post their routines? Sometimes when they are very overtired its much harder for them to settle & they might be staying awake partly because of that reason as well
