thanks Sudhi and Natasha!

I think what helped too, is that she was ravenous last night!! She ate so much.  The last time she did that she slept well too.  jsut wish she did it everyday!!!!

Vicku we got 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so happy.  For me it seems the perfect day - 7am wake up, 12-2 nap (with no issue going down and no grumpiness) and will put her to bed at 7pm.  It's 6.10 now, and she is fine, so should go ok.

fingers crossed for a sleep through night - though she has been biting alot today, so maybe another tooth  :-\

That's great news!!! That IS the perfect day! Hoping you'll have a perfect night too! See, we are making progress, this is definitely two steps forward, maybe three  ;)  Looking forward to the days evry day is like that! We should get there pretty soon with these little angels, don't you think?

Hi Natasha! Your LO did very well going cold turkey like that! That would never have worked with Lois as she gets OT too easily.

well, the good times did NOT continue last night.  Went down just before 7 - didn't seem OT at all, quite good.  Then she woke up at 9.30pm and we could not get her back to sleep until 1am    ::) ::) ::)  Have no idea what was wrong.  everytime we settled her, and left the room she would cry out for us - well, scream really. We resorted to lots of AP (didn't know what else to do) and even that didn't work. Rock, pat, bf - all seemed to work but when we put her in the cot, or left the room it started again. She finally jsut passed out I think. I had bf, then put her in the cot (again ::) ) and she was crying and I put my hand on her, and then she just didn't move again. So Ijust stood there for a while and then went to bed.  Of course up around 6.30am today, so it's a 2nap day today...................

So what do you think we should have done to prevent it? earlier to bed? maybe I was too ambitious with 7pm?  She had 14hrs sleep the previous day (ie; 2naps =2hrs, then a 12hr night; then the 2hour nap).

any thoughts guys?  or maybe one of those things.  A little bit of teething maybe, but  :-\

Oh dear... well same as with us -we had a 'perfect day' a few days back with 2 hr nap and then things went crazy again. It's more difficult to deal with as you're hoping they will continue doing so well.
IMO you've not done anything wrong at all, and I don't think 7 bed time was too optimistic given her previous day and night. To me it sounds like she was in pain or not feeling well. You did say that she'd been biting lots throughout the day, so it's quite probably teeth. I hope she's better today!
Well I should get to bed as Lois was acting a bit odd at bed time. I had to leave her with my godmother when going to work for 1.5 hrs. Lois doesn't like being with her really and when I came back she'd made her bottle ready for bed, but Lois totally refused to drink the milk  :o She normally scoffs down 10 oz but wouldn't touch it. I bet cos she'd made it and tried giving her it before I got there. Then she wouldn't sleep but kept calling me. In the end she had it but wasn't asleep til about 8...
Will prepare for an EW and try get some hours sleep. DH away til Saturday  :(
Lots of love!

Try 6.45pm bedtime see if that helps?

I think too, as she is tired when I bf her before bed, she is falling asleep on the breast. When this starts to happen I put her down, but I have to be quick.  Do you think that isn't helping? in that she is wanting the breast to go to sleep?  her naps are fine. and I only bf her first thing in the morning and last thing at night - unless like last night and i just ran out of options.

she feels a little warm, though fine in herself.  will take her temp when she calms down (currently crawling around with a hat on her head  ::) )

Oh, I wish I wouldn't have had to leave her for work... If it hadn't been for that I would have wanted to still bf her, but had to force her to take bottle when she was 8 months so that DH could feed her sometimes too, and when finally accepted it she started prefering it and stopped feeding from me altogether at 9.5 monthseven though I'd planned to keep at least the morning feed  :(  I miss it when I read about you and Lilly. At least it's better that I can go to work for a few hours at night than if I'd have had to leave her all days in daycare...

It's probably cos she's so tired by bedtime that she falls asleep on breast. If she still goes to sleep independently at naps it's probably not a major problem, I wouldn't think as long as you're aware and trying not to let it happen every night.

We did have EW and not sure how to tackle today really, but I'll write more about that in my thread.

 :-* :-* :-* Have a good day!!!

Just think though Vicku, it's one more thing I need to wean her from! I must say I"m not looking forward to it, for many reasons, mainly because I think it's going to be tough!!

Well Lilly woulnd't go down for her first nap, so I took her for a swim next door, and second nap she slept from 11.40-1.30.  so another 2hrs from her.  she is tired though, so early to bed (though it's 5.30now.....finish dinner, quick bath and bed by 6 I think).  Wish me luck for a good night!!
