RacehlC - Thanks for the charts. According to these, she is just above the 15% for weight.
As for the BF issues, The LCs I am working with actually think maybe she gets frustrated because after my initial letdown she has to work a little harder to get the milk. It is not a supply issue. The milk is definitely there. My pumping output is very good.
Both the ped and the LCs who run the BFing support group say that while her weight gain is not on the high end of the spectrum, it is stable. She may just be meant to be a smaller child and is doing fine on what she gets. Her output is good so she is hydrated. She is healthy. And she is a happy and content baby -- generally. If I did primarily bottles, I would be controlling her intake, possibly overfeeding her and maybe jeopardizing my supply as pumps are not as effective as babies. If her latch is good and she is effective at nursing than she should be getting what she needs. I guess I just have to keep rolling with it and finally allow myself to stop worrying. I don't think I need to supplement with formula because I have been told that she is getting great nutrients from BM and more calories and more fat/weight does not equal better health.
Mama2C - The reason she nurses every 2-2.5 hours during the day is because that is her current pattern. She eats (E), is awake for about approx. 1.5 hours sometimes 2 hours (A), then takes a cat nap (S). Her naps are usually only 30 minutes, maybe 40-45 at the most. So to stick with EAS, I feed her when she wakes from her "naps" and we start the whole thing all over again. Plus, with the BFing issues we have had, I wouldn't want to postpone her feedings after she wakes up because I would be afraid she'd get really upset and not eat.
Overall, while I am nervous about sleep training, some of this does sound encouraging. It just seems like a lot of hard work. I started reading Tracy's last book while I was pg but never had the time to finish it after DD was born. I think I would like to see how things go for a little while and come back for some help if we need to later. DD was a great sleeper in the beginning and she has the potential, we just have been hitting a lot of rough patches latey. Thanks everyone!
