LMAO!!!  :D

I would like to do 6 months too.  Not sure why I have that in my head.  If Callie is being really fussy I threaten her with formula  ;) and DP asks why we just don't make the move but I would just feel so guilty.  Not sure why?  Maybe because there is no reason NOT to feed her myself, kwim? Also, I know I don't want to stop feeding her myself yet, as I know I don't want to nurse long term either.

*tad screwy*  ;)

I do hate finishing a nursing session and only realising a while later that I forgot to re-clip, though... ::)

LOL oh I AM glad to learn that it's not just me!!

I hope to BF for as long as poss - defo up to a year  but preferable up to 2 - DD decided to quit at 16 months and she LOVED to bf, so am thinking I may not even get that far this time around as DS is not so much of a BF as DD ever was  :(

Glad I made you smile, Nicola!

I always knew I wanted to nurse for *longer than the average*, IYKWIM.  My sister gave me Jack Newman's book to read when I was pregnant with Megan and I became a total convert - really convinced about the benefits of nursing and breastmilk and determined to do my best.  This is one of the few things that only I can do for them and it's pretty darn important.  I'll be their parent forever and help them grow for a long time yet, but it's only a couple of years that I can nurse then and then that's gone forever, so I want to give what I can. It's what my boobs were designed for after all!  :)  And now with Sam, it's out last kid, so I hate to give it up before I/we absolutely HAVE to, you know?  I keep reading more and more about the benefits of nursing, and now I've heard about the extra benefits with how the milk changes after a year and even after 18 months, so I don't want her to miss out on that.  What if we find out even better stuff about it years from now?  I want to say to myself - well, I nursed her as long as we both could.

So that's my reasoning!  :)

Shameful I know but I loved loved loved my nursing bras.  To the point they are kind of icky.  Wore them day and night except to shower.  My nipples just were'nt ready for contact with sheets or my shirt.  I also wore them for months once I was done nursing.

So so so sad.  One day I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a person with no breasts wearing a nursing bra that was way to large for her (crinkles under my t-shirt).  I promptly went out and bought my proper size ... A32  :'(

I also used to clip and unclip contstantly while watching tv.  Loved the sound.  Drove dh up the wall but I still miss that clip.

ROFLMAO at using the clip to annoy DH!

Nicola - Zara ended our BF very early, like 10 weeks.  She had one bottle, and refused to ever latch again. When I tried, she screamed the house down (spirited babies, I tell you). I was devastated at the time, and then it had never occured to me to think how long to feed her for.

It made me so determined for it to work out with Hugh (even before he was conceived). I would like to make 12 months, but am another who would like to make it to 2 years (and I didn't even know all that stuff that Erin wrote LOL).  Hugh is my last, and I want him to be a baby forever. I LOVE that I can feed him, that he loves it, that he needs it, etc etc etc.
