Soy yoghurt / Calcium content
« on: April 04, 2008, 07:46:32 am »
Hi my 7mo old boy has dairy and egg allergies and dietician told me I can give soya yoghurt - I got the impression that the concern is calcium intake.  I bought plain Alpro soy yoghurt but unlike some of the milks this doesn't seem to be enriched with added calcium, and the nutrition info doesn't mention it.  SO is there any nutrition benefit of giving this - it is naturally low fat which probably isn't ideal for babies.
Or is there a better product I could find which does provide calcium in a yoghurty kind of thing?
THanks for any advice...

I know in the UK you can get alpro soy yoghurt with added calcium. I have only seen the flavoured ones but they may do a natural variety. I will have a look to see what I can find.
