How much TV is too much? My LO loves it and looks for it all the time. He taks to it an laughs and claps when it is on. I don't have it on all the time and is less than 2 hrs in a day but not sure if still too much?

Hi Dizzy there was another thread recently about TV, I think it said "Is Baby Einstein ok?" My DD loves TV as well and sometimes I think she watches too much but when I really look at it it's not so much maybe 20 mins here and an episode of something 10 mins there while I am busy or before her nap, I do think it's an individual decision. I know that Leorah is very active and we spend a lot of our day outdoors unless the weather is horrendous so when we are in if she wants to watch something I will usually let her as she will play at the same time, if she just sat glazed to it I probably would think differently. Also in defence of dvds she has learned a lot from them, especially actions, animals, opposítes like up and down and as she watches the same over and over again she will pre empt what is going to be said. It sounds like your DS is using it interactively to talk etc so I don't think it's bad, does he watch dvds or whatever happens to be on? If he like Teletubbies I recommend the dvd "Go" it is only 20 mins and is designed for your LO to join in with things like "stretch up high", "jump", "stand on one leg", "stand up, sit down", it sounds like he'd like that  ;)
