refusing afternoon nap
« on: April 14, 2008, 06:21:52 am »
Hi my 14month old son has always self settled and been a great napper until recently.  His routine is as follows;
7am milk
8am breakfast
play
10.30am sleep usually 1.5hrs
12noon lunch
2.30pm sleep usually 1hr
5pm dinner
6pm bath
6.30pm milk
7pm sleep

This has been working so well for us for months now and in the last 3weeks he has been still tired in the morning and going to sleep easily at 10.30am but then refusing the afternoon nap.  today he has actually gone down at 4pm for a sleep.
what should i do?  should i start making his nap in the morning later and then he only has one nap?  if so what time should he be going to  sleep for one nap a daY?
please any help or suggestions would be so greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Lokks like Lo is making the transition from 2-1 naps, but the A time in the evening is getting long so has the late nap.

Why don't you join in on the 2-1 sticky and you will find some great advise there. I am no expert but am in the middle of the transition myself.

My LO wakes anything between 6-7:30 and his nap tends to be 12-2 normally. He takes lunch just before the nap and wakes up and snacks on milk and fruit. This is on good days!
