Again, Thank You all for your very supportive posts, when DH gets home, I'm going to let him know that solids are just going to have to wait and I want him to be supportive of my decision. Since this is a feeding post, a quick question, although not related to solids... all day today my son is only feeding off of one breast every two hours. I tried giving him the other when he was done with the first but he kept turning away and I have this gut feeling that he'll be feeding very often tonight during sleep (he still wakes quite often to nurse) how can I get him to consume more of his feedings during the day then at night. Would it be silly to feed him expressed milk in a bottle then to nurse ( he seems to cosume more with a bottle -or at least stay awake longer than if I nurse) and then pump after he's asleep??

Bottle first is NOT a great idea. What you are describing would cause your milk supply to reduce over time. It's actually a technique used by mothers who are starting to wean off the breast. It's important that your baby feed at the breast (especially at the beginning when he's most hungry) so your supply gets fully stimulated. Even if you were to pump as compensation - pumping does not stimulate your breasts as effectively as the baby (who do a clever thing with their tongue to stimulate the prolactin hormone).

You can use breast compressions to try and keep him on longer (https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=88759.0)
Or burp him and offer again after a short break. See how tonight goes before you panic. BTW frequent feeding at night is not necessarily hungry related and he may be using the breast to settle between sleep cycles i.e. as a prop.

I definitely think he's using feeding at night as a prop but I tried to even give him the binky to satisfy his need to suck and he would suck for a little bit and pop it out and cry for the breast...Samuel's mom...any suggestions on how to fix this?? Last night he woke every two hours to "nurse" and all night I tried to comfort him and give him the binky instead of nursing but he cried and cried until I nursed him. How do I fix it??? I want some sleep already (which is a whole other issue)

Are you sure it's not a growth spurt? How long has he been doing this? There's a big growth spurt at 4 months (where they feed more frequently to build up your supply).

If you think it's just breast as prop the 'pull-off' technique is a good first step to teach them to fall asleep without the boob. Read this post and scroll down a bit for the pull-off:
