Well I was thinking just leaving her in the cot if she's only cooing to herself or making noises. If it turns into a cry try wi/pd/wo... but if she wakes up and not crying then could you let her be?

Ok, so that would indicate with us that not enough night time sleep. Try an even earlier bedtime... say around 7.30pm for a few days to see if that will improve her wake up time.

So if she wakes for good at 6ish am, then do morning nap from around 9.30-10:15am and afternoon nap around 1.30pm.... hopefully she will sleep 1.5hrs and bedtime 7-7.30pm. If she wakes even earlier from the afternoon nap, put her down even earlier!

Hi Veniasmommy!

Hope you don't mind me bargin in.

I'm also having some problems with NW with my 12 mo, and I'm desperate becaus e don't know what to do. I've tried to do earlier bedtime, but as you, in my country 8:00 is also considered a very early bedtime and also it's very difficult for me having him ready to bed before that.

How things go with you?

Hugs

Sónia

Hi Sonia! Of course i dont mind!! Where are you from?

Well i ll write you down our last days' routine later when my DD will sleep.... I have to say 2 things. Earlier bedtime is very helpfull for more consecutive sleep (10 hours!! but not every time) BUT after that i cannot resettle her and make her sleep again, though i see that she is sleepy and she needs to sleep!! What am i doing wrong???

I also noticed that naps are getting better....I mean that she has an am nap lasting 1-1,5 hour and a pm nap lasting 40min- 1 hour tops.

Hi Veniasmommy

I'm from Portugal, and you, where are you from?

Well the past few days I've been trying a hole range of things to try and make him sleep better.

I've been laying him down to sleep around 8 p.m, I'm also giving him a massage with that good night cream from johnsons's, and also giving him the homeophatic medice that his ped told me, and he is sleeping better, with one night that he STTN until 6:45 a.m.. Let's see the next days...

I will keep you posted.

Hugs

Hi there!

I wish I could help you, but I'm in the same boat...
One day he sleeps great and the next everything goes wrong again... Now we are having some better night but we never know!!

I've been so tempted to try the Estivill method and let him CIO, to see if it really works...

Hang in there, I have hope that things will improve!

Hugs

That night when she went to bed at 10pm probably didn't help. Often what happens with my girls is that when we have a rough night... it carries over the next few nights (say if she had a later than usual bedtime)... so its accumulated overtiredness.

How has she been over the last few nights?

Hi again!
After some weeks im writing you my news cause i need advice, i am in a dead-end!  :'( :'(
The weeks that passed DDs sleep was both good and bad (one week good, one bad). So i decided to do the early bedtime because i had to face both NWs and EWs!Im on the 5th day of the plan. DD is used to wake up at 5-6am and asks to bf. If she wakes up after 6am i bf her and she sleeps for an hour more (but not always). But though i sleep her very early (after 12.5-13 hours from waking up in the morning) EWS and NWS persist....

friday to saturday
7.15pm bedtime (asleep at 7.40pm)
8.10pm pd one time
4am pd for 10 min
4.30am pd for 40min
5.30am pd one time
6.20am bf and asleep
7.40am up for the day
10.45-12 1st nap
3.45pm-4.30pm 2nd nap
8.20pm bedtime and slept almost immediately

saturday to sunday

2am pd for 5 min
4.15am pd for 10 min
4.40am pd for 5 min
5.30am pd for 1 hour and a half without any success!!!!
7am bf and up for the day(she would like to sleep in boob but i didnt let her)
8.45am-9.30 1st nap
12.25-13.40pm 2nd nap
7pm bf (7.15 asleep)

sunday to monday

11pm pd for 10min
5am pd for 5 min
6am bf and pd for 5 min
7am up for the day
10.20am-11.10 1st nap
2.50-3.40 2nd nap
7.30 bf (asleep at 8pm)

monday to tuesday

00.30 pd for 2 min
4.50am we were in a situation that i had to pd for 10 min, she was sleeping for 10-15min etch till 6am
6am bf abd pd for 15 min
7.15am up for the day

Please help! Im so tired and none in my family seems to be supportive in that (early bedtime) because its not working....I feel that everything is so out of control.....   :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Yiasou Domina!

Sorry you're going through it at the moment :-*

I just wanted to say that I totally know how you feel about nobody understanding the early bedtimes ::)
If I had a Euro for every time someone said that I put DS to bed too early, I'd be a very rich lady ;D

As it is, when the clocks changed in March, we kept DS's BT the same, so he goes at 8.30pm now instead of 7.30pm. We really miss out on things - children's parties as they don't even start until 7.30/ 8pm ::)
And when we've had sleep problems in the past, everyone comments that it's because DS sleeps too many hours at night - sigh ::)

Anyway, when we get over this bout of OT, I'm going to slowly push the BT to 9pm :o You could try pushing Vennia's BT a little later too when she's completely rested if it would make your lives easier.

I haven't got much advice about the EWs and NWs although in our house these are always due to OT.
Could it be that DD is ready for 1 nap? Nicholas went to one nap at 13 mo.
Why don't you have a look at the 'Transitioning to one nap' thread and see what you think?

I'm sure one of the professionals will be along to give you some good advice about this!

Anyway, we're sending lots of sleep vibes for Vennia from Aegina and lots of patience for you :-*

Lis and Nicholas

Ladies I just want to put on a GM hat for a moment and say that mods are not experts and it's not their job to answer posts, but instead to monitor content. :)  It's the entire community's responsibility to help each other out.

And now with the hat off, I wanted to add that for some reason sleep tends to go crazy at Venia's age. Developmental I suppose? Is she walking?
