Jen- how'd the nap go after 5.75 A time?  We'd end up with 40 mins with that much A time!

We had 1 hour 10 mins (OT nap?) from 11:20am-12:30pm.  I had her in bed at 5:30pm, and think she fell off about 5:45pm.

It went okay. 1.5 hours. I was hoping for more but I'm still happy that it wasn't less! ; )

I had in her in bed at 6:30 pm and she had one NW around 3 and then slept until almost 6 which is day #2 of "sleeping in"! I was pleased. Today we have friends coming so I may tweak the schedule a bit.

How long did M sleep in until?

Jen- be careful with pushing her too quickly.  The 3am NW may be due to the long A time pre-nap.  If the nap starts to shorten, decrease the A time.

M slept all night, 5:45am-6am.  YAY!  So nap at 11:30am today...

Super! I will watch that NW. Today her nap was 1.5 hours again, starting at 11:50am.  Not complaining. She makes it through two sleep cycles and that is it. However she also woke up this morning close to 6 am which, in my opinion is the best thing!  Good luck with 11:30 nap today.

What am I doing wrong here?

Up at 6am yesterday, nap at 11:30am til 12:40pm, and bed at 5:40pm.  She was up for 3 HOURS last night from 10:26pm-1:35am, and then up for the day at 5:26am.

And what time should her nap be?  Keep it at 11:30am, or move it back to 11am?

Hmmm- 3 hours? Is there something else going on with her that might keep her up that long? I'd say 11 or 11:15 am for nap. I'm feling for you. That is brutal.

Uh yeah, you warned me. Same 3:30 am NW last night and it lasted an hour. Went back to sleep until 6:45. Husband is not to happy with me. What can I do to make sure this NW stops? I was pushing the A time before nap too long?

Thanks,

Jen

Jen- If she woke today at 6:45am, then I'd put her down at 11:45am again.  Then bed 5-5.5 hours post nap (personally, I only do 5 hours, and am still getting long NWs).

I don't know- 3 hours seems so long for a NW. I thought one hour was long whenI was going through it. You poor thing.

Leslie, 3hrs!!! that sucks honey you must be shot to bits, let alone poor M.  Did you read those articles Katt & I posted about? what did you think? seriously if it where me I'd be doing all I could to try to sort M out, I just trully don't beleive it can be sorted by routine alone, you've been at it too long and really have tried everything.  I really don't think you have anything to loose by looking into it, but you certainly could have a whole lot to gain.

thats my 2p worth, I'll shut up about it now ;-)

Honestly?  It blows.

I've been putting her to bed at 5pm (as she's up by about 6am, and nap at 11:15am-11:30am, which only lasts til about 12:30pm), to prevent more OT, and last night she was up 4x, 1 NW for 2 hours.  I'm sooo spent.

How's by you?

Leslie, did M do better on 2 short naps of 30/40mins a day than she is currently on 1 nap or did 2 naps just become unworkable?

I'm thinkning if 2 naps of 30/40mins was working better then maybe you still would be better off with 2 naps.  Just a thought honey.  Did you ever try 1 nap 2 nap combi's where you do 1 nap for so many days then 2 naps for a day or two to prevent OT.

wish I had a magic wand with your name on.......

Sending lots of love & kisses your way

Hi Leslie, sorry you are struggling still with Maddy's naps.  We are much better with naps now but night time sleep is not so good, at least Maddy sleeps well at night most of the time.  Anyway I dont want to rain on your parade but we did the cranial thing with Maya prob about 8 sessions , not sure if it did any good though as this was really early on and it did not really help with her sleeping but I guess anything is worth the try, that is why we went for it and i suppose it works for some so good luck if that is what you decide.
Hope you are both well.

Nik- I WISH she'd take 2 naps, but once she's slept at all during the day, that's it.  I've even tried taking her for a walk about 3 hours post wakeup for a 20 min nap, but she won't even sleep in the stroller.

And the last 2 nights, she's woken 35 mins after she's gone to sleep.  I can't put her to bed earlier than 5pm.  What is the deal?

Anybody have advice for today?

M slept last night from 5:15pm, 1 brief NW at 5:50pm, and then slept this morning til 5:22am.  I'm going to take her for a stroller ride to the gym at 9am, and hope she takes a mini nap.  (I'm expecting she won't).

If not, do I still aim for the consistent nap time, 11:20am, which leaves us with 4.5 hours til bedtime?

Or do I put her in at 11am, hoping she'll take a longer nap? (And if she doesn't I'll have almost 5 hours til bedtime, and we already are having trouble getting to sleep at night?)
